Barfis & More also reflects the above saying, and it is an endeavor to translate my love for sweets into healthy dessert options made with vegetables. Yes, the name is BarfiS & More, and not barfi as people who have a sweet tooth know that you can never have just one, so the S emphasizes multiple servings. & More is that we are not just talking about barfi but a gamut of desserts and savory options.
Through this blog, I would like to share healthy sweets and savory dishes with the readers. This blog is also an attempt to make Indian sweets more attractive and repackage them to appeal to the younger generation.
I am trying to address two goals:
Health benefits – To make sweets healthier by introducing fruits and vegetables. By including fruits and vegetables, we automatically reduce the consumption of milk solids, ghee/butter.
Sustainable Cooking – Trying to cook desserts/dishes using everyday ingredients available in the Indian pantry. By doing so, I want to encourage eating local and seasonal fruits and vegetables with a low carbon footprint.
One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.
